“To grow , we need to first learn the art of unlearning”.

Change is not unpleasant every time. It’s human to resist change as that drags them out of their comfort zones. Well build a perception for self and hold on to that.

Just think for a while, the skill sets, jobs that were in demand a decade ago, no longer exist, similarly what is in demand now may not exist in the next decade. So, how do you think you will cope up in this dynamic world?

The obvious answer is Unlearning and relearning. Letting go of the old ones and learning new ones to reinvent ourselves and match with the ever-evolving world.

Destroying the old habits, behaviors, attitudes, skills, etc. and making room for new, relevant skills and habits is an ongoing cycle. This holds true in your professional growth as well.

Not only at the personal level, at the professional level as well. Resisting unlearning can be a great barrier to your success.

You might have experienced many people holding onto the old ways, not open to change are the ones who lag. They are called redundant humans. Are you in the same league or are you ready to destroy the old patterns, and welcome the change?

Let me drag your focus on the key benefits of relearning:

● It opens a new wide horizon of opportunities.

● It makes you suitable/fit for the changing world.

● It becomes easy to quit bad habits and learn new good habits.

● Makes you flexible and more adaptable.

You will be surprised to know even in global companies, employees are trained to relearn, releasing what they learned earlier and relearning new ways. A corporate culture that supports relearning is successful the most.

Not just for employees, it’s a prerequisite for senior employees too.

Remember, when we let go of old things, we get that free mental space to allow new learning, concepts, and ideas. When we hold the old too tight, we become outdated, not ready to change with the changing world.

Human life is learning, a constant journey to learn, relearn and keep growing. While there was too much focus on just learning , recently the human race has understood the prime importance of unlearning as well.

Let go of the old, embrace the new each day.
